*grumbles about the HTML editor on the new platform which eats up blockquote tags and cite and sooooooo much more*

Sometimes I want to say things and however hard I try and put the words together it rarely comes out right, sometimes it even makes even less sense than it did in my head.

Anyway these are the closest things I could find to describe what I wanted to say (the picture is from Darryl SE7's photostream. I hope he won't mind too much my using it)

I was waiting on a moment
But the moment never came
All the billion other moments
Were just slipping all away

Objets inanimés, avez-vous donc une âme ?

Ok, I doubt my nano has a soul but it's not much of a leap of faith to believe it has sarcasm to a t and a sense of irony in shuffle mode.

The latest hint, when putting the earphones in in the early hours this morning hoping it would help me find the sleep in so need right now its first "choice" was The Arcade Fire's Rebellion (lies). As the first few lines played "Sleeping is giving in, no matter what the time is. Sleeping is giving in, so lift those heavy eyelids..."

I had to stiffle a giggle and skipped to the next track, and what did the silly thing offer me IKO's Sleepy Head of course.

So I thought "that's my pod alright", giggled as quietly as I could and the cat stopped purring for a minute while it stared at me from the odl armchair by the window. I guess if I'd switched the light on the animal's face would have said "you loon".

Only mad dogs and English men

Him Inddors is putting the last touches to his packing pilling up various bits of walking and camping gear all over the living room and the hallway floor. In a little while his equaliy mad friend is will be adding his gear to the pile and a little bit after that when the gear is safely stowed in the car they will be making their way to North Wales to do the Welsh 3000s.

I think they are planning to sleep somewhere half way up Crib Goch and I think I heard Him Indoors considering the merits of lowering the load by not taking a sleeping bag up with him. I am hoping he will reconsider this one, I suspect death by self induced hypothermia might not be covered by out insurance policy (makes mental note to check the paperwork later).

No , I am not going with them. Why not? Well the following stats put me off slightly:

  • 15 peaks
  • 3,650m ascent
  • 47.5km distance
  • start time tomorrow morning 04:30
  • estimated finish 20:30 (they are aiming to finish in time for a beer in the pub

5 of their friends will be providing logistical support but I believe they have turned down the offer of steak and chips as walking fuel.

They are mad I tell you.

Edit: after a bit of nagging gentle persuasion, Him Indoors as agreed to re-assess the need for a sleeping bag when they have had a chance to check out the weather in Snowdonia
