extract of conversation with the lovely Christine: "... and the people at the table behind us saw me eying up their plate of pig's ear and let me have a nibble. They are soooo nice, like pork scratchings only better" "I love pork scratchings, how do you improve on them?" "well it's salty and piggy and crunchy, gooey and chewy all at the same time. Salty AND piggy, perfect food."

Violet / Website (16.8.07 20:38) I am really, really hoping that "pigs ears" is a euphemism for pretty much anything else. Like, say, a plant that I've never heard of that only grows in the UK? Or, um, a London word for bacon? OR SOMETHING?! On the flip side, if you ever need a dining companion, you may rest assured that I have a beagle and a lab who will happily visit. Really? Ears? Really?? |

stroppycow / Website (16.8.07 23:54) I mean pig's ears, they are served cut up in nice bite size pieces and are not cooked in quite the same way as the lab and beagle get to chew on. =D Piccie there if you want to see what they look like http://www.flickr.com/photos/ext212/468703331/ How about pork scratchings? Do you love or hate (they are a bit like marmite, neutrality is not really an option)? |
