Happy birthday to me

Bubble tea

OK it's a bit early since it should be tomorrow but tomorrow I have some important and boring things to do. Things like: A) joining the queue of over-optimistic parents who put their child through the entrance exam for one of the local grammar schools (The Boy's candidate number is in the 1600's, there are only 120 place, you do the maths) and B) looking around properties with estate agents. This mean there will be no time at all for fun stuff tomorrow so the birthday stuff was brought forward by a day.

On the wish list this year:

  • Cake that I didn't have to make - Check
  • Mind blowing kiss - Check
  • Trying bubble tea - Check

For the last one, MFC decided the best place to go would be the Oriental City food court in Colindale. I am not normally a big fan of frog spawn , or sweet tea but I have to admit bubble tea worked for me. There is something about the large straw and the chewy balls which is quite satisfying so much so that despite being full to the brim with bento with side serving of sushi goodness (The Boy), glass noodles with seafood goodness (MFC) and seafood dumpling soup goodness we just had to try melon pearl drink and watermelon pearl drink (it is still the year of the pig for a little bit after all so it's ok to eat like one for another month right?).

Nice extras that were not on the list but that I got anyway:

Oops better go take the Christmas decorations down .
