It's started already

The fireworks season started last night in 2 of the neighbourood gardens. Seems a bit earlier than usual. It normally starts around halloween, goes on to Guy Fawkes and then Diwali then Eid, Christmas and New Year. I spent a good ten minutes looking a calendars trying to find out which celebration takes place on 19th October. Couldn't find one. Maybe they just like fireworks.

I imagine the children here will be using them as mortars in no time at all :-s

Two firework shops recently opened within 1 mile of each other, now we regularly have fireworks being let off in the street. Do you think there may be a connection!!!

We heard two different fireworks festivities last weekend - 10pm on a Sunday night. Nice.

A local girl is campaining to restrict the sale of fireworks as people seem to disregard the instructions on the packet. Fireworks with "minimum clearance 100 m"... how many London gardens are long/wide enough for them ? She had a terrible accident when a rocket set off in a neighbouring garden landed on her and she lost her sight in an eye. I like fireworks but having grown up in a country where they are limited to organised displays I always feel diy displays are always a bit disappointing in comparison. Did I mention I set fire to the bird house with a catheine wheel 2 yers ago?
