Birthday boy

No birthday party this year. Instead we to The Boy to Coral Reef in
Bracknell for the afternoon. It's the sort of wimming pool where you
don't do any swimming, it has 'rapids', a giant jaccuzi and 3 slides.
Him Indoors and The Boy enjoyed the fast slide very much and after
testing the other shoots decided I could probably handle the medium
speed one and insisted I gave it a go (I did).

To round of the day we went to Starvin Marvin in Perivale and back in time for ice cream in front of Doctor Who.

One hapy little boy and no tidying up after the party that did not happen - the best of both worlds.

I've always wanted to go there - never got the chance when I was younger. Glad you all had a good day.

My nearest chip shop is named the Coral Reef - for one slight moment I thought you were going to say you'd taken The Boy out for chips instead of having a party. To be honest, the water park was a better idea!

we used to love going to Coral Reef. My boy threw up after coming down the slide so fast and swalling loads of water in the landing pool . the Vomit was ribina! gross

Sounds like a perfect day to me. Except for the Doctor Who, I found it quite unsettling - not the monsters, getting my head round the grown-up Rose in the same church as baby Rose. And her dad. Yikes.

Thanks PJ
Glowstars: you can always take your boy when he grows up now you are back in the UK.
Jiiiim: now if it'd been my birthday, I'd have been quite happy with the fish and chips. I'm so cheap...
Princess, that boa slide looked like it would have made me bring up my lunch, the vertical drop is quite off-putting if you are not a thrill seeker.
Daisy: he did wake Him Indoors in the middle of the night because he had a nightmare and last time he was most upset at the demise of the dalek. I suspect the nightmare was monster induced though - I think the baby rose/ grown up rose concept thing would have been out of his reach.

Ooh - Starvin Marvin - lucky boy! What did you eat there? Curious.
